3 Reasons To Stop In Winslow, Arizona

If you have ever traveled Route 66 you are definitely familiar with the historic towns you pass through on the way. Some are small, some are old, but some are little gems you never knew existed. Winslow, AZ is just that, a little gem that shines bright. Although small and a little empty there are three reasons I love this stop on the mother road.

  1. The “Standing On The Corner Foundation”– The tribute to Route 66 is fantastic, they have little shops that have great treasures dedicated to a time gone by, like hats, shirts, trinkets and “The Eagles” gifts and memorabilia. You can also take pictures on the corner next to a red flatbed Ford!
  2. The Sipp Shoppe– Please stop in and eat lunch here, or at least get an ice cream treat! The food is delicious and they have every fountain drink imaginable. It’s right on the corner, so you are close to all the action!
  3. The Route 66 Sign– This nostalgic sign is painted right on the road in the middle of the “corner”. It’s such a cool picture and it really makes you feel like this was it, this was Route 66, my grandparents traveled this road.

So, if you are thinking of just driving by this old time town on Route 66, don’t, take a detour and find yourself standing on the corner in Winslow, AZ.
