Greek Culture And Traditions

Hi fellow travelers! I hope you are exploring! As we move through the dreary days of winter I am dreaming of a Grecian escape! And lucky me, I will be taking one in April. But I began to reminisce about the trip we took to Crete, Greece as a family back in July of 2022, and thought I would post some of the fascinating pictures I took that highlight the beauty and traditions of the Greek culture!

Greece is known for some beautiful cobblestone villages, and you never know what kind of treasures are hiding in them. Our favorite restaurant is hidden in one of these villages and the church and blooming flowers are such a beautiful backdrop.

The boats in the port of Rethymno on the island of Crete are a beautiful sea blue and the fishermen are pulling in their catches.

Athens, Greece is an enormous city and so full of history, this view is from the Acropolis, I can’t even imagine all the intricacies and alcoves of the city from up here. It’s massive, and so incredibly unique!

The Parthenon is one of the most historical places in our world history and it’s quite a trek up the Acroplois to get there. I don’t reccommned doing this in the summer, you will absolutely melt as there is no shade on the top of the hill. But, to imagine thousands of years ago the incredible feat of building this massive structure is just mind boggling. It really is a must see in Athens.
